My marriage happened couple of months back in RTC Kalyanamandapam and all of my relatives were very happy with the functional hall and the arrangements. The marriage was done by the bride side and my father in law being an employee of APSRTC, he could get this functional hall at a discounted price. There’s heavy demand for this functional hall as it is in the heart of the city and is very much commutable from all parts of the city.
It is located near the movie theaters junction RTC X Cross Roads. It is very near to the famous Bawarchi Restaurant and is in second right from RTC X Roads to Vidya Nagar Road. Some people get confused over its address as many feel that it is located some where very close to RTC X Roads. There are two functional halls available in this APSRTC Kalabhavan. One an indoor auditorium which is called Kalabhavan and one Kalyana Mandapam beside that. The auditorium is given for only half day where as the Kalyanamandapam is given for one day, starting from the last day evening to next day evening. There are rooms available at reasonable price which is a very good advantage for lodging outstation relatives.
RTC kalabhavan auditorium is very well furnished but it is good for hosting any meeting/workshop rather than a marriage. Kalyanamandapam is best suited for hosting a traditional marriage/reception. Almost all the necessary things related to marriage can be easily fetched from the vast experience of the staff. Getting the right slot is the biggest challenge here and we were lucky that our horoscope recommended to have marriage on Ashtami which is usually regarded as inauspicious. We checked with many astrologers and they all opined that Ashtami is not suggested for functions like gruha pravesam, nama karanam etc but for Marriage it is definitely an exception and based on Bride and Bride Groom’s horoscope that particular was the best muhurtam. So we got enough courage and decided to go forward with the same day. As no one else preferred Ashtami day we could easily get that slot in RTC kalyana mandapam.
One important thing to remember about hosting a family function in this functional hall is that you should carefully follow up with the staff to be free of tensions as some of them do not work unless you go to them. But its definitely a good value for money for arranging family functions in Hyderabad.
